Polk County Traffic School Benefits

Whether you received a Lakeland speeding ticket, ran a stop sign in Winter Haven, failed to yield the right of way in Haines City, or committed another Polk County moving violation, our online traffic school course is for you. This course can be taken to keep points off for any Florida traffic ticket. As long as you were not at fault in a crash, taking this course will prevent your insurance company from raising your auto insurance, cancelling your policy, or non-renewing it (§626.9541, Florida Statutes). This course will also enable you to keep your safe driver status.

You can elect to attend Florida traffic school unless:

  • You have already elected once before within the past calendar year
  • You have elected five times within the past 10 years
  • You hold a Commercial Driver's License (CDL)*
  • You received a Florida speeding ticket for driving more than 30 mph over the limit

*CDL holders might be able to attend the BDI course for point dismissal if they get a court order.

You Can Pay Your Polk County Traffic Ticket Online!

If you decide to go to traffic school, you must notify the clerk of the court in the county where you received your ticket. Each county has its own system for traffic school election. Please check the rules with the county in which you received the citation BEFORE you pay your ticket!

For a speeding ticket received in Lakeland, Winter Haven, Haines City, Lake Wales, Polk City, Davenport, Mulberry, Highland City, Auburndale, Bartow, Eagle Lake, or any other traffic citation issued in Polk County, Florida, you can pay your ticket online through the Polk County Clerk of the Court. Click here to receive instructions on how to pay for your traffic ticket online.

Note: We recommend that you sign up for traffic school before paying your ticket so that you will not forget to do this and lose out on the benefits of Polk County traffic school attendance.

What To Do with Your Completion Certificate

Once you have completed the Florida online traffic school course, you will need to turn your completion certificate in to the Polk County clerk of the court. (If you did not receive your traffic ticket in Polk County, you should turn your certificate in to the county in which you received your ticket.)

Polk County Traffic School in the Classroom

If you would prefer to attend Lakeland traffic school in a classroom, click here to locate a traffic school in your area. We license a large number of schools throughout Florida to teach our traffic safety programs. Many of our schools and agencies also teach the Advanced Driver Improvement course, the learners permit course, and the 8-hour traffic school (IDI) course in the classroom.

Aggressive Driving Course

Aggressive driving courses are not currently offered online. If a judge has ordered you to attend an aggressive driving course, you will need to locate a classroom traffic school that offers this course. You can click here to view a list of traffic schools that offer the aggressive driving course.

Note: Be sure that you have been ordered to attend aggressive driving and not just 8-hour traffic school (IDI). If you have been ordered to attend aggressive driving, your administrative order will specify that this is the course you must attend. If you have been ordered to simply attend 8-hour traffic school, you can sign up for our online IDI course.

Lakeland Speeding Ticket

Speeding in Lakeland creates dangerous driving conditions for everyone. Excessive speed is one of the primary factors involved in motor vehicle fatalities, which is why Lakeland law enforcement personnel strictly enforce speed limits in many locations. Running red lights is another common reason Lakeland drivers receive a traffic ticket. Do your part to be safety conscious -- don't speed or run red lights in Lakeland, or commit other types of moving violations!

However, if you have received a Lakeland speeding ticket, you should consider signing up for our online basic driver improvement course to dismiss the points for that ticket. This course can be taken for a Polk County ticket or any other Florida ticket.

Haines City Driver Improvement

Nobody helps Haines City drivers with traffic tickets the way Polk County Traffic Services does. If you want to take an online BDI program that won't bore you to tears, breaks up the time with video, and has an open book final exam, we've got what you're searching for. And also, Haines City teens can take the State's best online driver license course / test with through this website.

Take Your Winter Haven BDI Class with Us!

If you live or work in Winter Haven and you need to attend basic driver improvement, why not sign up with us? We are the ONLY traffic school in Polk County that also happens to be a State approved course provider. We have spent years developing our courses to make sure they meet the needs of Winter Haven drivers, and we own our BDI course, which has passed the State's effectiveness study every year that it has been conducted. No other traffic school in Polk County can make that claim.

Ticket in Lake Wales

Maybe you received a traffic citation in Lake Wales recently. The cost of tickets in Florida has doubled over the past year, and accumulating too many points for a traffic ticket can result in a license suspension AND higher insurance rates. What's the solution? Take our convenient Lake Wales defensive driving course (basic driver improvement) to dismiss the points for your ticket.
